Re: What’s the bottleneck with x58?

Unfortunately the motherboard has 1 dead RAM slot. So I am limited to 3 modules unless I want it to run in single channel :(

The game runs much, much better on my own secondary PC, an E5-2670 (v1)...

Re: Attention Mac Junkies - Mac Pro 4,1 (2009) build

Turned out nice! MacOS in any flavor is unusable trash IMO. Stick Windows on there! Should be easy enough.

Still a plenty powerful system for typical usage. As long as power is cheap ;)

It’s a Dell XPS desktop with an i7-930 and GTX980 4GB GPU.

Initially it was...

Re: Intel Arc Graphics Discussion

Well, the card is here, and it’s disappointing. Why? Well it doesn’t work. I suspect it’s not actually dead, as there have been reports of Arc GPUs simply not working with certain monitors, but I...

Re: Attention Mac Junkies - Mac Pro 4,1 (2009) build

Definitely my absolute favorite computer case out there. I experimented with building a PC in one a long time ago. Does this Mac have the Internet Recovery feature?

Dell Precision M6600 Not Charging Battery and Reduced CPU Speed

Hi all, got this one quite cheap off eBay. It came with a 240W Dell genuine charger.

Initial issue was the battery wasn't charging.

I thought the battery was the problem, so I bought a generic...

Re: Better Panel for Dell Inspiron 15-5558 Laptop

Hey, so unfortunately this project didn't work out, there seems to either be a defect in the new cable or display. I'm rather irritated. So, now what, before I get pissed off, throw it across the...

Re: Better Panel for Dell Inspiron 15-5558 Laptop

It's funny, Dell has replied that the cable is part number MC2TT, which is what I already have, so they seem to have no clue what I'm talking about... so, you are amazing. Thank you. I will order the...

Better Panel for Dell Inspiron 15-5558 Laptop

Re: Best cheap way to cool AMD FirePro S7000?

If anyone else has a working S7000 and a dead Asus HD6970, the cooler from the HD6970 works great. Just FYI. Haha.

Thermaltake Smart 500W... will the Crapacitors last?

Scored this for $20 BNIB sealed. Why do cheap power supplies smell worse when you first open the package than expensive ones, that is one thing I've never understood...

Anyway, it's got a bunch of...

Re: Asus KFN5-D SLI Kinda Retro-ish Rescue / Build

Honestly, I'd put the 560Ti cards in there. Far more useful long term:
