Re: Another custom C(r)apXon in FSP unit!!

You're right, I've seen those too in some newer units.

Re: Würth Elektronik Electrolytic Capacitors Official Thread

It's believed that the large "soda" can caps from Kemet are at least half-decent, although they are generally cheaper than japanese and similar brands. I would not trust smaller ones though.

BTW,...

Re: Hiper HPU-4S350 - Old but good?

I've seen some AGP ones, FX 5xx0, maybe some manufacturer did PCIe with AGP bridge?

Re: Hiper HPU-4S350 - Old but good?

Thought the same  Just that the only decent one which could be used today is with some 775 which accepts C2D at least, and they did not do many of those, maybe only the P33T-A.

Re: Database of UPS inverter output waveforms @ HWI

More measurements of different values of units already in the DB have been added over the year, and also the ol' APC Smart-UPS 900.

Re: Thermaltake ATX supply goes BANG! - TR2 RX-750

Yeah me thinks IPx60R190C6 and 20N60 look like equivalents.

Think that 500V FET should be fine as well, it's two-forward when it has CM6800 without even looking, and most of them usually only had...

Re: ISO Model: ISO-400 350w PSU

:jester::uzi::jester:

don't think CWT has anything to do with this PoS, likely some fake copy if anything :why:

they make CM6800 based PSUs as the cheapest for way more than a decade now

Re: Trying to repair a HP Z800 850W PSU by Delta

What spot do you need to heat for it to work?

I've recenty read on another forums that even things like glass SMD diodes in the auxiliary stand-by transformer winding which actually do power the...

Re: Dell 2007FPB teardown

Np. I'd recap it too, it's full of garbage, if that resistor does not kill it, the caps always do in the end.

Re: Dell 2007FPB teardown

Strange thing is, that resistor is hardly ever burned. In most cases, it looks fine, sometimes even measures fine, but still…

Re: Samxon capacitor quality discussion (spin-off from OCZ Bug Zapper thread)

Most funny's that the huge printer machine is HP but the controlling PC's IBM, as far as I've heard, never really seen the whole thing :D

Re: Dell 2007FPB teardown

If it's so cheap, sure. You can actually use the whole replacement board, if it's sold as working.

Re: Samxon capacitor quality discussion (spin-off from OCZ Bug Zapper thread)

Who knows, I've already repaired strange IBM systems with Socket 478, reportedly it runs some huge printer, if you had gazilion printing material for close to nothing, you'd also keep such beast...

Re: Dell 2007FPB teardown

If that's correct, first transformer's busted, that's what's making the driver shut down.

Re: Samxon capacitor quality discussion (spin-off from OCZ Bug Zapper thread)

Most of those caps died after 11 years of use no matter was it Sanyo, Rubycon, Nichicon or NCC (obviously) caps, especially in these terrible Dell systems. That's pretty much confirmation Samxons...

Re: Dell 2007FPB teardown

Check the secondary sides of those three inverter transformers, if all six have the same (within 1-2 %) resistance.

Re: Dell 2007FPB teardown

Phone's usually not enough, there are two polarisation filters 90° against each other so almost no light comes through, you need some strong light to se. However if the indicator LEDs are on, likely...

Re: FSP400-60GLN worth fixing?

Shitano is known crap which tends to bloat in storage. I kinda wonder what do you mean about availability when I have pretty much everything regarding ATX PSUs for like 8 years straight now and you...

Re: Samxon capacitor quality discussion (spin-off from OCZ Bug Zapper thread)

Just for some upgrade after 5 more years, I had two RS 330/25 caps (or something like that) dead in an old router some time back, but that thing was running quite warm for many years 24/7 after...

Re: Tecnoware FAL501FS12 does not turn on

If that's the case, only explanation is one of them went high(er) ESR, hence, by ohms law, the different voltage. But, that situation likely happened over time and I think is not the most accute...

Re: APC UPS units - troubleshooting

Guess it was just initial drop due to high initial current draw. Plus, pretty much no accumulator has flat didscharge curve - it usually drops quickly from full charge to about 11.5 volts, than...
