Re: MSI GTX1070 not recognized on H110 Board, Z490 OK

Could be pcie capacitors. Not sure what else.

Re: Sapphire RX 480 - 8go no power - 0 volts +VDDC - Help to find why

It's normal for vcore vddc to be 0 ohms. The only way to test that is with voltage injection. If it draws more than 5A at 0.8V, the core is probably shorted.
Don't worry about that, though.
If a...

Re: Software to analyze Video RAM faults on graphics cards?

You have to use easy bcd and delete the current windows 10 entry from the first partition, then reassign it.

Re: GTX1060 not working, Vcore down to 0.3V

If the xtal is good, it would have to be something with refin on the up9511. So check voltage on refin when the core drops. If that's the same as vcore, you can eliminate any power source as the...

Re: GTX1060 not working, Vcore down to 0.3V

It's probably the crystal oscillator. Check for 0.9V and a sine wave from both sides of the crystal.

Re: RX470 - memory upgrade 4GB -> 8GB ?

The 1.35v vs 1.5v difference doesn't seem to matter. I've tried mixing the hynix 1.35 and 1.5v versions.
I'm guessing the memory does have a bad chip, but it's not bad enough to show up on your...

Re: Palit GTX 1050Ti short mosfet value 4C029 RFMOP

Actually, that's not quite what I was saying. The rail that has the bad MOSFET is for the VRAM. The core will always fail short, and it's normal for a good gpu to be around 0.1ohms. So the only way...

Re: Palit GTX 1050Ti short mosfet value 4C029 RFMOP

What's the resistance from the coil next to it to ground? If it's less than 20 ohms, the core is dead. Usually when the memory VRM shorts on nvidia GPUs, it kills all of the VRAM and the core.

Re: GTX1080Ti founders edition diagnosis

Oof. 1.8V should be between 600 ohms and 900 ohms. And that's being generous. I'm pretty sure it's a dead core, but you can check pin a11 pexrst on the pcie connector. That's on the back right next...

Re: XFX Radeon RX480 with artifacting

There really isn't a way to tell which chip it is. Most people say to change both. And yes. That would be D0 or D1. You could replace one, then the other if the first doesn't fix it. Tserver is...

Re: RX470 - memory upgrade 4GB -> 8GB ?

The bios is the only thing that needs to be changed for a RAM upgrade. Was the card working properly before the upgrade? Have you tried running tserver on it? Maybe one of the modules has a bad...

Re: XFX RX 580 8GB GTR Black Edition 8gb OC+ - no display

Have you checked resistance of 3.3V and perstb (pcie pin A11)?
Edit: Also try all display outputs and see if it shows up in device manager as a secondary card. Sometimes bad VRAM will only let the...

Re: Gigabyte GTX1080 Xtreme Gaming All Rails OK, no post

Glad to hear that was all it was! Usually it's just a last ditch effort to check that. It's not all that common on the 10 series. The 20 series and AMD RX 400/500 have an AND gate that goes bad all...

Re: Gigabyte GTX1080 Xtreme Gaming All Rails OK, no post

The GTX 1050 uses gddr5, which takes 1.5V. The GTX 1080 uses gddr5X, which takes 1.35V.

Re: Any hope for a dead RTX4000 GPU?

Okay, cool.
First, you want to pull that burnt chip off. You can test the card without it. Next, you want to measure resistance on the 12V inputs. So the 6/8 pin connectors and the 3 far left pins...

Re: Any hope for a dead RTX4000 GPU?

Oh. That makes sense. Looks the same as a 2060, mostly. Still the same diagnosis. If you have the tools I can help you diagnose and repair it. You'll need a multimeter, a hot air station and a...

Re: Gigabyte GTX1080 Xtreme Gaming All Rails OK, no post

PEX reset. Pin B11 on the pcie connector. Make sure it has 3.3 volts on that pin. If you can track it to a resistor or AND gate, check that, too.

You're flashing it with a ch341?

Re: Any hope for a dead RTX4000 GPU?

That's a current ballancing MOSFET. It's not even really needed, but should be replaced anyway.
The reason it burnt up, though, is because one of the Vcore or VMEM MOSFETs shorted. If it's VMEM,...
