Hi yes cleaned up the mess.
Perhaps when the board was made they did not have the proper surface mounted capacitors.
Attached some more pictures .
Got the 12 volts and 5 volts working .

Thinking about it I decided to use two transistors in a darlington configuration .seems to work OK .
Next step is to try it out.

I dont know i,t is right bodge took a lot of getting off.
I spoke to the owner and she said it had never been repaired before ?
As I said before the caps are far too large ,jammed in and glued down...

Just run the TV up today after sorting out a few thing its working .
Ordered some much smaller capicitors for the power supply which should finish the repair.

Hi think you are right about the transistor ,just knocked up a circuit to try ,a capacitor about 10 uF and a IRFBC30 mosfet (got lts of these) .

SOVOS Flip down TV SVKTV156A
I tried to attach a picture of power supply ,but it will not upload.
I removed a capacitor off a simlar circuit ,it measured 10uF which suprised me .
Pin 2 of the IC seemed to be the supply voltage...

I tried another 12 supply it still shut down.
I think this has been repaired before, the capacitors on the board are normal type and have been glued down .they are far too big ! .

Hi it is not mains driven ,it has a 12volt power supply , as I am not much up on LCD tvs ,beginning to think it could be the back light.
So I will take a look at that.
