Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1
Yes they do look awesome with all those tubes!
I was near to get one but then got my senses together and realized where the heck was I going to have room for that big thing, it's crowded as it is...

Re: flourescent ballast resistance
It requires a ballast to work, otherwise it will burn out.
In your picture on the lamp it is written Osram Dulux S model 827, it has a G23 base.
From the datasheet we can see it is a 11W lamp...

Re: best cheap/free scores 1.1
I could not find any specs either, only the output voltages.
Might be best to not start this up if the caps have not been reformed for 50 or so years, the series was introduced in 1958 according to...

Re: Dell P2210f no power
Your photos are not usable, here is what I used instead: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpost.php?p=599033&postcount=30
I made one omission in my previous post: 12v does not seem to be for that...

You can see a photo of the top of the encoder in my original build photo way back in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=137396&d=1468518476
Here is how the bottom...

Re: Dell P2210f no power
I would not buy from that seller because he mixed up the type of diode in the title of the AD vs the description!
"Ultra Fast Recovery Diode" vs "Standard General Purpose"
-Typical Chinese crap,...

Re: ESR meter upgrades
I compiled a new build of Karl-Heinz firmware from the new GIT repository (https://github.com/kubi48/TransistorTester-source) a few days ago.
It works well on my GM328R, this time I only included a...

Re: Xbox 1.6 Motherboards and Polymer Capacitors
Well there is nothing inherently difficult with it:
You just measure the voltage on the different capacitors with the system running to see what voltage rails they are on...
For example the Pentium...

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 225BW
I would check the ESR of those surface mount electrolytic capacitors.
Probably after all these years with heat they are bad.

Re: Xbox 1.6 Motherboards and Polymer Capacitors
It might be worth it to measure the voltage on those caps and if it is low enough use 2.5v 3300µF polymer caps:
They are not in old recommendations simply because they did not exist back then....

Re: Learning with ATX CHIEFTEC 450W PSU
I would say it is still starved for power, but you really should check the integrity of the APFC swiching mosfets (Q11/Q12 & Q1/Q3 from the schematic kaboom posted) if you do suspect that the supply...

Re: Learning with ATX CHIEFTEC 450W PSU
What voltage do you read on the primary capacitor during this test?
If your line voltage is 230VAC then it should be around 230VAC x √2 = 325VDC in standby.
And when you start it up it should be...

Re: Cleaning up capacitor leakage
I would recommend cleaning using acetic acid if it leaked on the board.
Every time I do I can see bubbles and hear fizzing as I put it on the areas with leaked electrolyte, so it does a chemical...

Re: Learning with ATX CHIEFTEC 450W PSU
As I explained in my previous post it will be different for each PSU design.
What works on this one will obviously not work on another with a different APFC controller and there are many of those!
