Seasonic dead after wrong SATA power cable

Hey I am wondering if anyone has tips to repair a completely dead Seasonic SGX 650.

I plugged in a Thermaltake modular cable by accident and the PSU died. Everything else survived.

The first image (with molex pinouts) is the Seasonic PSU. The second one is the faulty Tt cable.

I measured the resistance of 12V 5V 3V3 and they keep rising until I get an OL reading.

    Any tips?

    Thanks.

Do you have any 5VSB on the 24pin molex connector?
If not have you checked the basics like the fuse?

I checked the main 240V fuse and it is not blown.

I jump started the PSU and get 0V on 5VSB and everything else, 12V=0V, 5V=0V and 3V3=0V.

I did the same thing and I made a thread about it. In my case it blew the protection diodes in the HDD. It shut the psu down instantly. Anyway… with everything unplugged from the PSU, just plug it into power mains, short the green wire to the black wire on the molex connector and it should fire up. Those things have over current and over voltage protection to save the PSU and prevent a major event. So depending on what you had plugged into the wrong cable, it can stop the computer from working.

Ok, if you do not even have 5v standby working you will have to start from the beginning: measure the voltage on the big main filter capacitor.
It should be around 325v DC with 230v AC input.
If you have a "shaver socket" or something like that providing low current 120VAC that is safer to use, then the voltage should be around 170VDC.

See if PSon voltage is present between the green wire and a black wire. Measure it with your DMM, you should have something like 2.5V there.

Burned out PSU Corsiar HX1200 and NZXT C850, connected to wrong Molex/Sata cable from EVGA.
              by coinwizx
              Hi,
Anybody has experience repair PSU burned out due to connect to EVGA molex/sata cables. I know the cable is not compatible (i got them mixed up), but I though i can connect it and use a PSU tested to find out which is the wrong sata/molex cables. As soo as I pluged in the powered molex cable to the PSU tester, the power supply short out, and will not turn on anymore. After the incident, the PSUs (both HX1200 and C850) try to power on and shut itself off immediately. The ATX PSU tester survice the short circult, still working perfectly. Anybody know if it's an easy fix or know which parts...

GIGABYTE X299 AORUS ULTRA GAMING - SATA PORTS 4-7 NOT WORKING ???
              by DynaxSC
              Hi,

I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.

However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA...

HP-Pavilion x360 Laptop Dead After USB-C Cable Connection
              by fweonea
While at university, I connected my HP-Pavilion x360 14-dw0156ng laptop, running Windows 10, to a monitor using a provided USB-C cable. Immediately after this, my laptop's screen turned black and the device stopped working entirely. There are no signs of life such as fan noise or LED indicators, holding the power button does nothing. I've previously used this same monitor model and cable without issues, the cable typically charges the laptop as well.
I've attempted holding the power button for over 30 seconds, removing and reinserting the battery, and trying to power it on with only the...
