    HML1225 Thyristor replacement

    Hello again folks!

Need some help finding a suitable replacement for a couple HML1224 thyristor's.

These aren't manufactured any longer and the only comparable replacement I can find on Digikey is a MCR100-5 A1G.. and wouldn't you know it.. that one is no longer made either.

This is for a vintage Christmas light chaser function box.

      Sure do!

That's what I was trying to go by, but I can't find anything closely comparable. At least not in my limited knowledge.

Well, I was hoping to find one that was in stock so I could get them working this year, but I guess with something of this age I can't be super picky!

          Thanks for finding those CapLeaker

                Re: HML1225 Thyristor replacement

I would not use a triac because I have found one of these was multiplexed using the two line sine-wave polarities. Just to get more (colours to control) out of the few wires in the string I guess. They really need to have a fuse in these as well. The one I had gave me the creeps with the skinny wire and messy PCB with no clearances.

BT149G 600V 0.8A KGA pinout or BT169. Littelfuse seems to have different pinout.
