    Nichicon PC(M) replacement

Hello, Iam working on my dads EEC-IV computer from his 94 Lightning Pickup, it has bad nichicon PC(M) 2x47uf 16v and 1 10uf 63v what would be a decent replacement? I noticed Panasonic makes the General purpose NHG series any they are rated to 105c whould those be okay?

also on the bottom left of the board capacitor I see I guess a diode or something, it has no markings and had electrolite under it which i cleaned, did that cap possibly short it out?

Heres a picture of the bad cap next to what I think is a diode? I see a black pool under it but is that electrolyte from the cap or the diode?

It could be glue but then you would expect the same under other components so I guess not.
It looks like the board is conformally coated, maybe the electrolyte somehow dissolved that and created that mess...
As for the cap choice I don't know because I did not find a datasheet for the Nichicon PC.

Here is a datasheet for Nichicon PC...

If you want to be strict about it, you could use an automotive-grade cap like RX30 or similar.

I found these but 50v vs 16v for the original capacitance is the same.

I also found some guy trying the WURTH alluminum polymer caps, would those be a better choice since they wont ever leak again or would you go with the rubycons? Thank you for the help!

i would try to see what the caps do.
are they just smoothing dc, or on a dc/dc convertor output? or signal blocking?

Seeking replacement for EOL Nichicon PLV1J220MCL1TD. Found APAQ and ELITE (CHINSAN)
              by DaveHarry
              Hi group,

I am looking for a replacement for Nichicon PLV1J220MCL1TD (22uF, 63V, Conductive Poymer Aluminum Solid Electrolytic, 8x9 but we can go up to 8x11).

While searching, I found some APAQ and ELITE replacements that would fit on our products (APAQ ARHA series and ELITE UGT and UPD series).

How good are these brand/series and what other alternative would you recommend? I've searched the big name already and didn't find an equivalent.

              Thanks!

              Mid/late 80's Nichicon Yellow Caps
              by nick3092
I recently acquired a set of Bose Roomate speakers from the mid to late 80's. Basically the right speaker cabinet is completely passive, and the left one has the power transformer and amplifier circuit in it. Out of curiosity, I opened it up to see what the circuit looked like. Looks like they used all Nichicon VX (2x 4700uF/16v for smoothing off the bridge rectifier), a couple random Nichicon SE series sprinkled on the board, and what really caught my eye - 2 yellow sleeved Nichicon caps (both 1uF/50v with no real series marking. Below are pictures of the caps. The only thing not shown in these...

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
              by the_rem
              Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
              by ezenia
              Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...

Macbook pro logic board replacement parts quesion
              by boosti45
i have a 2020 macbook pro 13" A2251 with 820-09149 logic board so i found an issue with chip labeled U6903 according to schem. boardview using flexBV software, so i removed it from the board and the issue im having is that the chip says "07A08FI ELC180" on top of it but when searching for a replacement chip, i can find tons of identical looking chips that also have "ELC180" printed on them but the first set of digits is never the same so im trying to find out if i need this exact chip with these same numbers as mine and if not which ones are compatible as a replacement?...
