Board View files - pay sites

    Hi guys
I trust this topic is OK for discussion here

When I am googling for board view files I find a lot are on various pay sites. In particular I find a lot of links to an Indonesia forum but it seems I have to pay (VIP member) to down load them: For example I am currently looking for a boardview for Asrock Z87 Exteme4

I know a lot of folks here kindly share boardview files and schematics for free -and I doubt the sites charging money actually have any sort of intellectual property rights to sell them

Having said that I am not adverse to paying for resources if they are genuinely going to be useful to me and I can't easily find them for free elsewhere.

Are any of these pay sites actually worth the money? To me 'worth the money' would be defined as actually providing good quality files, free from malware and having a high likelyhood of finding what I need there.

    Cheers
    Rich

Re: Board View files - pay sites

If you can`t find them for free then your only option is to pay membership sometimes. You just have to shop around and see which ones offer the best value, some of them charge daily, monthly 3,6,12 months or per download,1 schematic,10 bios, 5 downloads per day etc ,and guides are usually extra. There won`t be a single site that has everything you need. Regading intellectual property rights, they`re selling something thats been stolen and sold to them, but how else can you fix things if the manufacturers won`t make schematics publicly available.

I was under the impression it was you who was looking for one I found your https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79449 thread

Asrock made a series of defective boards, there was even a huge reddit thread about your particular model '[PSA/Request] Possible reoccurring problem with the ASRock Z97 Extreme4' 5 years ago https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/co..._the/?sort=new

anyway I tracked boardviews for our boards and we are trying to figure out whats going on on eevblog https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair...e-after-sleep/

Oh right, that was an old thread. I still have the motherboard on one side. I did briefly put a compatible CPU in and as I recall I got some other low Vcore voltage

I do have the boardview now, I will read through your links and see if it helps me or I can contribute anything useful.

However mine is a Z87 whereas the one you link is a Z97

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                by Rezendes
Hello, I am looking for any and all files related to the mainboard for 820-2565-A (13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012) schematics/board view.

I looked through forum search results and google and was unable to find a board view file, I found a pdf of all the schematics but I don't know where the parts physically are on the board as this is my first macbook board level repair attempt.

The macbook charger has a green light, the battery has been replaced and OS reports Normal status but Not charging. After cleaning a corroded capacitor it crumbled off the board. There...

                by Garret Matt.
                Hello,

I'm Working on replacing an Inductor on this Dell's board and I need to come up with a compatible replacement. As much as I would like to smash a comparable 2R2 in the same spot I'd like to confirm the specs before confirming a killed board. For my purposes I'd be happy with a second opinion on the replacement inductor or the actual schematics/board view. As this is a commonly used Dell Rugged in my local service area, schematics would greatly help in the future.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can render.
