    Sonos Play 3 Power Supply

So I picked up a faulty Sonos Play 3 with a messed up power supply. Capacitor blew up took out traces.... fairly common occurrence. I recapped it and ran a cable connecting to the bridge rectifier. Upon trying it out, it always blows the fuse and gives a large bang... so shorting somewhere. Can anyone provide some guidance on how I could fix? It keeps blowing on the back of the board.. See Pics attached.

you need to check the rectifier, cut/scrape away all that carbon, and replace that jumper that almost touches with an insulated one - preferably with a curve in it to clear the other rectifier terminal

I found this picture of an undamaged board, top view of that area.
Check if the bridge rectifier is shorted

You should also remove the carbonized section of the PCB, it is conductive once it is carbonized like that.
I found some pictures here also: It looks likes those caps are all bad in these pictures.

Thank you very much for the response, so I'll cut away the charred bit of the trace/board. The jumper and the insulated wire are going to the + on the rectifier. I connected both directly as I'm not sure how bad the trace is. I know the one for cap 3 is completely busted but unsure for cap 2. Cap 1's trace seems fine hence I didn't jumper it. Could the carbon be causing it to blow the fuse and pop when I apply power? Thanks.

Thanks, I ran some tests on the rectifier and it checked out (as far as I'm aware) using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11JPy4t36oo

All my results were in the 500 range. So guessing it is OK. Could it be reporting erasonable values but still be busted? Thanks.

Thank you very much for the response. I have a feeling the issue is with the charred remnants of the traces so I'll cut those out with an xacto. One question though, what if there is an SMD sitting above the charred area? There is an area with 2-3 small smd components on the upper side but below it, the copper film has blown off...... I don't have the schematics so tricky to figure out how to jumper everything.

Without good board or the schematic to compare to what the burnt board is supposed to have is difficult to trace out the board.
