Also I wired a transistor tester ( putted it with a resistor and the duty at 50% and measured so I got a 1.7 volts read just to make sure the line was around the expected voltage (3.4v). So I connected that line of the tester to the PWM line (no idea on the frequency of the tester) and got the same thing.
What do mean you got 'THE SAME THING'?
If you do not disconnect the PWM wire going back to the MAIN/LOGIC board first then the MAIN/LOGIC board will keep that line low and will not allow that PWM signal to go high/low when you try to use external PWM source.
