Bosch AL 1830 CV(AL1830CV) blown fuse

    Another victim of planned obsolescence.
BOSCH battery charger from year 2018.
    PCB
    1 607 503 091-C
    PCB4040 Rev0.4 CEM-1 1.6T 10Z
    2016-04-19

Fuse blew with nice sound effects. Seems need to replace fuse and resistor. No schematic is available.
Not sure what have caused this will try to replace 400v cap, resistor and fuse.

    R1 a MOV looks cracked,
and check the diodes and whatever is on that heatsink for shorts.
you have more bad parts - you need to find them.

Have to also decode resistor near V5

black blue brown gold 60 Ohms 5%
if that's a gate resistor i think the fet took a hit .. best give it a look at anyway

I suspect the resistor V5 is what stj said, 0.68 as it appears to be the source resistor, I would suspect the mosfet is shorted, D~S and may have damaged the drive transistor V6
I suspect R1 is a NTC thermistor as it is in line with the a/c input not across it.

yes, checked again - inrush limiter.

and probably a good idea to point out that the primary heatsink is connected to rectified mains!!

                V5 Mosfet(ST P6NK90Z)is short on all pins.
Mains cap(C2) is ok but while others are FZE, FZK and GF series this is noname Acon.
Inrush limiter has same pcb coating which is cracked but part is ok.

Thanks this was unusual as also it is isolated from V5 by
plastic gasket. What for as it limits heat transfer?

This thread just saved me a load of trouble. Have the same issue, with the FET blown and taking out the source resistor and fuse. The source resistor was so charred I could not read the code on it properly. 0.68 ohms matches the couple of bands I can see. Thanks.

Did you find a replacement FET or analog?

Replaced FET, R7 resistor, fuse and it is still short. Blew fuse and R1 thermistor(8S150L).
                      Need to look further.

You where right it was not so easy.

edit: two of IN4007R(or 1N4007 ?) diodes are shorted. Should I replace them all with UF4007?

the group of 4 rectifying the mains?
you can use UF if you want, it costs more though.
