    Blast from the past #2: MSI 694D-Pro A ver:1.0
    by Aetherone
With the success of my Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe recap project, I'm turning my attention to the other benchmark board in my history - the venerable MSI 694D-Pro A.

Wayyyyyy back in the day, I paired one of these (in protoype orange PCB no less) with a pair of 366 Celerons for a world of fun. That board was flawless from day #1 (well, aside from the usual VIA issues with sound cards and Promise getting narky about additional HDD controllers). Wish I'd never sold it off.

The current board is one of a hundred examples from a teaching college near the IT shop I used...

How good are lelon caps ? I see some people install RGA Lelons currently. Also could see some old posts where lelons are reffered as the badcaps.

Trying to understand how to find best replacement cap for old parts.
    by samoelec
Disclaimer: This is the first time I step into the realm of analog electronics and my natural language is not English, so please forgive me if I failed to use the correct terms when describing things.

Recently I purchased a Tektronix TDS1012, a 20 years old product for cheap and I thought it could be a nice opportunity for playing (i.e. recapping) and learn something in the process.
The power supply board is exactly the same from this post so I'll just steal it for now.

I'm trying to find replacements for all those Lelon electrolytic caps, but then quickly...

Philips 42PFL9603D won't turn on. Need specs for Lelon capacitors.

    My 2008 Philips 42PFL9603D won't turn on.

Blinks red three times. Pause. Blinks red three times. Pause. Etc.

According to the service manual, the description for this error is "12V" and the fault is in the power supply board.

I took this board out of the tv. Everything (everything!) is clean. No leaks or bulging caps. No cracked solder joints. Fuse is fine.

Having nothing to measure this with, I bought the MESR-100 v2 + M6013 combo on eBay and started out using the MESR-100 to do in in-circuit test of the caps. I have not used...

    Old but unused Dell Monitor
    by slap_happy
I just broke the factory seal on a Dell (Philips) monitor that was manufactured in July of 2010.

I decided to check the power supply board (see image) before I even powered up the monitor for the first time.

The following is a list of the electrolytic capacitors. Are any of these more urgent than the others to replace?
