Check and reseat the cable between the LCD panel and the logic board, if still problem, then check the SMD fuse on the T-CON board of the LCD panel assembly.

ok first of all thank you very much for the reply, i appreaciate everyone's patience with me. I managed from a no power monitor to get to power on but only white screen. I looked on the board then and i saw some fuses. I replaced some, some i just wired. Anyway now its powering on and its showing rainbow on display. What next ?

Wire replacing fuses is not the way to go. The fuse is there for protection and if the wire unsolders and drops onto the circuit - finished.

            Have you got pc connected?
If you move the LVDS cable do the lines move?

I see your c204 is bulging, maybe thats where your problem is.

it was indeed, i did buy a new one and replaced it. after replacing, it did power on but it was showing white only. i replaced some fused and now its showing the rainbow (attached earlier in the thread). I guess the best thing right now would be buying a multimeter and see maybe i missed some fuses, i have no other idea

The fuse on the T-CON Blown? It looks like the panel is damaged by short circuit.

Re: LG L1717 Monitor cap failure

Just a quick message to say that LG L1919S is the same kind of construction as the 1717. Toughest part of the job is removing the bezel, it's very hard to pull off, don't hesitate to pull hard. I broke some of the clips with no impact on remounting.

I just changed one cap: 1000uF 16V. The replacement one I found has same length but much bigger diameter, just enough room for it coming in contact with a nearby heatsink. It works fine now.
Bad caps fixed so far: Senseo coffee machine, Samsung 226BW monitor, LG L1919S monitor, PackardBell Maestro 191W monitor
