Default Re: Help to choose caps with different ripple current

The NCC KMG series looks to be a high quality 105C general purpose part (and no longer in VCC's catalog?). The Rubycon ZLH series is a very low impedance, long life part. Very different parts for very different applications.

Rather than throwing parts at what you're trying to repair, I suggest understanding how the part you want to replace was used. Maybe start with the manufacturer and series and cross-match that with a similar or slightly better part.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.
To kill personal responsibility, initiative or success, punish it by taxing it. To encourage irresponsibility, improvidence, dependence and failure, reward it by subsidizing it.
