"mountable" Single slot 3.5 SATA dock?

I'm looking for a single slot 3.5" (nice if it could do double duty with 2" drives but not essential) drive dock that can be mounted like an optical drive.

I've got one of dubious quality -- I suspect if I made heavier use of it the ejector mechanism would break. I just want to be able to slip bare drives into a machine, from time to time, without having to open the case OR resort to a USB dock.

I also have a thermaltake case with two 3.5/2.5 hot swap bays on top, but I leave it open with a sata data and power cables sticking out. But it's a pure shop computer. Don't even know the model. I think I actually have one in storage, but shipping would be hell

          Ah, excellent! That should work.

Mine secures the disk behind a locakable door. So, once inserted, there is no way to pull it back out. You have to rely on an ejector mechanism that PUSHES the drive out from within.

Of course, typical flimsy chinese mechanism is likely not going to stand up to repeated use (I rarely eject a disk; I use this capability on the machine that has the "slot" to effectively multiboot -- so I can scribble on the entire medium instead of having to share an MBR, etc.)

The "new" ones will just be used in place of external docks -- fatter pipe.

          Thanks!

I have several external docks. In the past, this was appealiing because I could move them TO whichever machiine needed access to a "bare drive".

But, I'd rather not have "more stuff" lying around and have a spare drive bay in each of my workstations so making IT available as a dock seems the most prudent.
