better to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

I never heard of that forum.....but I have to confess, I've thought about it here many times. With so many good folks that actively help around here, I just couldn't do it. This forum is almost 20 years old.

Never heard about it, but I'm sure I have sometime or another I probably got information from it. If I could I would probably host it. I have an unlimited host at 1und1 (ionos). I might just take the ads out completely. Getting moderators OTOH, is a completely different story

I remember when Steve Pavlina closed the Pavlina forum . Some of his mods started a forum of their own. He got mad and closed the forum. Basically a new age/ med phy ,self help site . I don't know if the site the mods set up is still open as they would not let me join .

                HELP! A1398 Dead,
                by Fam787
I bought a second hand Mid 2014 A1398 MacBook Pro when I lived in Australia. I'd bought it as a back-up machine because I had a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro, and realising it might one day fail, I wanted a backup machine because I don't like change.

Two weeks after buying MBP2, the seller called me to check if everything was OK with the unit, which I thought was odd. At that stage I might have turned it on a couple of times, but I'd not used it when he'd called. Over the last few years I used the machine seldomly because my original mac has been pretty OK. Every 3-6 months I'd charge it...

Unable to verify IC or write/erase/flash BIOS file to XMC QH128AHIG SPI chip using NeoProgrammer/AsProgrammer
                by testaccgta
                Hi, everyone!

I've recently acquired two brand new SPI chips to replace the one currently in my Acer A514-54G laptop MB (FH5AT LA-K092P). The reason why I'm replacing the current SPI chip is because I had some difficulties with a third-party IT assistant who pretty much lacked the soldering skills and ended up destroying the current SPI chip soldered to my MB from factory.

I've decided to do this on my own because I spent the past month or so learning some soldering skills and BIOS modding through Badcaps and WinRaid forums, hence the attempt. I've also chosen to buy...

Need help creating an empy Intel ME for HP EliteBook 1030 G4
                by bonsale
                Hi!

I've got a few identical HP EliteBook 1030 G4 laptops. Most of them I succeeded flashing, but a few went wrong. Therefore they're BIOS is now corrupted. Here is a dump of a correct/working bios (no password, fully working, exact same ram, display, LTE, WIFI etc etc).
I tried cleaning the ME region myself (see attached file), but i think that's wrong, because it doesnt start with the correct amount of zero bytes...

Of course, just flashing those binaries on a different laptop will result in HP Endpoint Security controller problem and resetting the bios after...

UPNP, "Standards" and hardware that implements it
                by EasyGoing1
I've been writing a program in Java that is really just a robust front end for the use of GitHiub Gists, providing a nice interface for developers to organize, maintain and access code snippets that we tend to need from time to time in our different projects.

One of the features of the program is the ability for people to share their Gists with others who use the program over a LAN or over the Internet. The program just basically serializes a Java class and encrypts it then wraps it into a UDP datastream and sends it over to another user.

So I decided to implement UPNP...
