Toshiba c660D-16L power but doesnt boot

    Hello
    I have a toshiba c660D with LA-6849P motherboard.
When I plugged it on power the green light that has power lights but when I press the power button nothing happens.
I checked the power mosfets they have 19V.
    I checked the chipset PU330(page 30) which has 3 & 5 volt
    pin 16 VIN 19V
    pin 8 VREG3 3,3V
    pin 17 VREG5 5,08V
    so I have voltage there.
Can someone tell me how to continue.

PS I couldnt test the power button. What should I short to test if it power on without the button?

Check PQ331 and PQ332 for short. They were getting really hot on mine. On another one I had the KBC controller was shorted.

          pin 5,6,7,8 19V
          pin 1,2,3,4 3,3V

          PQ332
          pin 5,6,7,8 3,3V

Check PBTN_OUT# on pin 117 of KB926QFE0 on page 23. you should have 3v there if not first flash the bios with programmer and see what happens. If still nothing change KB926QFE0 with the new one.

P.S. First things first of course check the button itself and be sure it is ok. Sometimes just the button itself can be faulty even it looks like ok

Re: Toshiba c660D-16L power but doesnt boot

It's a little difficult to measure it.
I attached 2 pictures to see how is the button.
There are no pins. How should I measure it?
Should I put -probe to ground and +ground to the first pin to see if the voltage goes to 0V?

exactly like that. just black probe to the ground and red probe to the + side

Voltage doesnt change when I press the button it remains 3.3V.
I tried short pin 1 with 4 ( ON/OFFBTN# with GND) but still nothing.

Embedded Controller = EC (ite, winbond , etc..)
there are some ways to flash spi roms. google may help you on this.

Can you tell me which chip is EC. I think it is U22 but if this is EC how can I check it , there are no visible pins.

EC has pins. A lot of them. It's the ENE chip next to the RAM slots.

Thanks it's the U52 chip which I measure the 117 pin and I have 3V.
What pins should I check there?

Your laptop switched on without posting or totally dead?
If it is switching on , then you have problem with E-350 UMA VGA. You have to reball APU

Page 38 you have a gift : POWER SEQUENCE .
you find +3/5 VL , next step is EC ON ( pin 102 of U52 ) check it .

                                      Also check +RTCVCC = D92
                                      R1074 both sides
                                      Q6 Drain and source
