There would be ID Nos. on the LED strips when you tear down the Panel.

There are 3V and 6V LEDs. I think the LGs use the 6V SMD LEDs. I prefer however to replace all the strips with new ones as I don't like to goin a Panel more than once, especially those 55inchers

The thick lenses appear to use the 6V LEDs and the thinner lenses with 3 black dots use 3V LEDs. I did a full strip replacement on a 32" LG with the thicker lenses and popped off almost every lens since they were difficult to remove with the double sided tape.

That's right the thicker lens are the 6V and the thinner lens with the 3 dots are the 3V LEDs.

Off topic here I'm reluctant to do these led repairs due to even heating up the led strip which is stuck down they nearly all fall of so my question is which way do they go back on because many times I have put these back on and ended up with a halo effect on the screen

You may get halos if the lens isnt perfectly centered, or not level or sitting too high. Can also be caused by the strip not sitting flat against the chassis. I scrape down the black nubs on the 3V lenses with an exacto knife before gluing down. Also better to swap repaired strips to the edges instead of middle of the screen if you can.

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Gen 10 - Flickering Screen
                    by Ado02
                    Hello everyone,

We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the IntelĀ® IrisĀ® Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.

The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens,...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                    by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HP ENVY HP 13-aq1013dx - screen flickering black if using touchpad or external mouse

This device came in due to the screen flickering if you use the touchpad or external mouse. It will flicker black when this occurs. If you use the touchscreen, the behavior does not appear. Also, if connected to external monitor, the external monitor is not affected by the flickering. I did a good amount of research on this, and concluded that it is due to the display driver. HP does not offer Windows 11 drivers for this model so I got the replacement drivers direct from Intel. I installed them and the problem...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.

                    Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

LG 42LN540V LED Backlight Flickering After Replacement When Connecting The Screen
                    by RetroComputingGrotto
This TV has been on the wall in our reception area for around 10 years and the other day the backlight failed. You could see a feint picture so we knew the screen was OK. I took the TV apart to get to the failed backlight and inject voltage in to each half of the LED strips to identify which ones had failed and 4 needed replacing. I ordered a set off of Amazon and they arrived the next day.

On fitting the new LED strips I plugged in the TV was blinded by the light!!

It was only when I partially put it all back together (including the screen) that...
