    New Oscilloscope considerations

    Hi All,

3 years ago I purchased a Hantek DSO5102P which slowly failed in various ways. It is now unusable and practically not repairable. It might be an outlier but I won't buy another Hantek.

I am therefore considering a replacement but money is still tight so cannot realistically consider Tektronix, Keysight, et al.

So I'm looking for comments/thoughts/recommendations for manufacturers like Siglent, Rigol, etc.

Basic spec: 2 channels with a minimum 100MHz bandwidth.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

rigol 4channel 50MHz scope is the best deal - you can unlock it to 100MHz over the network interface straight away.

slightly more expensive is the siglent X-E series.
both are really good - i have the rigol one - fully unlocked.

btw, most scopes multiplex the adc convertor.
    so 100MHz one chanel = 50MHz across 2 channels and so-on.
    so read the datasheets.

After much research I've gone for the Siglent SDS1202X-E 200MHz, 2 Channel scope.

            The cost was £324.00 delivered.

They have a proper distributor here in the UK and it comes with a 3 year warranty.

Hopefully it will out live the Hantek.

Anyone want a dead Hantek for spares?

All the V & H controls stopped working. You could only get a trace by using the auto button. Once you had the trace you couldn't then adjust the V&H controls. Nothing obvious internally. All the power rails were fine. I reseated the ribbons but no joy. I bought it from Amazon and after 3 years the chances of any support are zero.
I would say the PS board is fine as is the TFT, but the two main boards are clearly suspect.

what do you want for it?
maybe it's a bad signal to the rotary encoders

Rigol DS1054z (4 channel) now come unlocked with ALL features, including 100MHz and protocol analyzers. I got one for about 340 EUR here in Bulgaria, and I highly recommend it.

It does. The 100MHz option is a software unlock. It says 50MHz on the front shield of my one, but it does 100MHz.

postage and packing would be about £8.00 or less.
