My guess is that the processor speed is being throttled to extend battery life. In other words, it is annoying but is working as Apple designed.PeteS in CA

Agree with @PeteS.
How many battery charge cycles on this macbook ? They say that the original Apple branded batteries are good for 500-1,000 charge cycles. Based on the age of your unit, this may be the key factor if you are > 500 charge cycles.Comment

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro 15" here, with light on charger but does not boot with or without battery installed. Can anyone provide assistance?

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.
