Check any Bios setting for swithed off ports, check 5V regulator supplying the USB/PS2 (usually an analogue one) and if the supply voltage for it is presesent (probably 12V). Check for short after the 5V regulator. Check any recovering fuses or any 0 ohms serial resistors in the 5V power lane for discontinuity if present. Check any switching mosfets between the regulator and USB. Check ESD surge protectors on USB data lines for shorts (very small 6 pin dual in-line devices near the USB Ports), they go short on a surge to protect the chipset and must be replaced (they are usually devices like IP4220CZ6, case type: SO6 (SOT457)).Last edited by DynaxSC; 01-25-2022, 06:52 AM.

I have an Asus Prime B450-Plus motherboard with USB overcurrent shutdown problem. All the ports, voltages and resistors are ok. Can someone please help by editing bios to disable this feature? Another member (прямо) has successfully done this and shared the bios in forum but those are for other Asus models.... -

Hi, i have an ASUS PRIME Z590M-PLUS board, which had an shorted Z590 chipset. I have succesfully exchanged the chipset to a factory new one, however there is a serious problem with the Intel Management Engine (later on: ME) not beeing activated after the chipset device replacement.
For lower chipset families (on ASUS boards) it worked to program the oldest bios version into the SPI rom, and the bios had activated the Management Engine itself by default - there was a message on the screen prior booting - "BIOS is updating Management Engine ..... . Do not shut down to prevent... -

I got an ASUS PRIME B550M-A AC Motherboard, bad BIOS, it wont display or boot, unless I did CMOS Restart first, after that It will boot but if I modified the configuration of the bios and saved it ,again no image
I got the BIOS .CAP file from ASUS official support, used a tool called ASUS CAP to BIN, and programmed it to the IC, soldered to the board and got it to boot correctly, all the way to Windows, but now the CPU fan stays at full speed all the time and if I try to power it off with power button it will restart instead, and there are... -
