    Intimidation Professional sub advice please

    Hi all

Far as i can tell this unit not producing any audio , although customer mentioned it does , but distorted .

Anyway , started by testing impedance of main driver speaker .

Measuring 80R , which i have not experienced before .

Anyone familiar with this unit enough to know ?

Can't seem to find any info on it .

See picture of label on speaker .

Most of the Blastking drivers seem to be 8Ω

Have a feeling there's an issue on the input board .

Became suspicious when i noticed the LED for signal wasn't registering .

Also cannot scope any audio on ribbon lead from input PCB to MAIN , although if i poke around on main , can measure an extremely low peak to peak audio signal.

Re: Intimidation Professional sub advice please

Some progress made on this unit .

            Discovered a low reading of 30R between pins 15 & 13 of U15 ( IRS2092S ) , compared to same measurement on other channel , which was over 4K .

It's a drive chip for one of the channel output devices , which seemed to have survived .

Surprised protection mode didn't kick in .

Still not sure about the speaker impedance .

There likely is no protection circuit. I suspect the output mosfets could also be bad, I see what looks like a lead trimming or solder splash on the mosfet lead in the lower left of your picture.

Hi RJ , there is an LED on unit labelled protection .

I did notice the solder splash also , but suspect that's during manufacture , as it doesn't seem unit has been opened before .

Re: Intimidation Professional sub advice please

Pulled out the driver , which has a larger diameter than any pizza i have ever seen , 47 CM in fact .

Now impedance reading 1R2 therefore assume it has shorted turns .

                  I guess it should be a 4 ohm .

Not sure why the high reading before . Quite possibly meter probes not contacting fully .

Any suggestions for a replacement .

With the added cost of bass driver customer has decided against repairing .

Not having a particularly fruitful week .

                      by zen
PS48 is model for sub & where i suspect issue lies .

CD head unit seems to run ok , & can take a line out signal into an amp with audio present .

Can't seem to measure any voltages at secondary side of PSU within SUB unit ....

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
                      by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

Garage door RX unit (Cardin S38C) does not short relay to send opening signal
                      by CoinCoin88
                      Hello everyone,

I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!

Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver...

Unit runs but no speaker output kenwood KR-6030
                      by DrDos
I have finished my work. The new lights come on except the one for stereo, I reversed the bulbs to no affect, anyway, the unit powers on, relay clicks. I have no DC voltage in speaker outputs, I also do not have any AC in the speaker outputs. There is some faint crackling in the speaker. This unit cranks up loud so I had the volume on very low. Everything seems to be fine but I can't really check the switch until I can get sound out of the outputs. I was going to do caps for the power supplys and the tone board but thought if it was cranking loud at one time maybe just leave it alone until it...

Bose Companion 5 - Unit Powers On then Cuts Off Shortly After
                      by nobbnobb1
                      Hi guys,

Trying to salvage a Bose Companion 5 computer speaker system that powers off shortly after powering on. It's got a primary USB input (built in DAC) and an aux 3.5mm input. The USB appears to be the primarily source that tells the unit to power on (control pod LED goes green) as the unit has no power switch.

When I first connect power to the unit, plug in the USB, it will play audio nicely for a minute before it drops out and the unit appears to go into standby (control pod LED goes red). It stays in standby and I cannot seem to power it back on without physically...
