Does it have a voltage monitor in the BIOS? If so, make sure all voltages are in spec.

A lot of Intel i865 boards ended up with the defective HN and HM.

What are you doing when it freezes? Run a memory test, does it freeze? Anything get extra hot? Download hiren's boot cd and test with some of the apps. Also try a linux live cd or an XP live cd and see if it freezes.

These boards are sensitive to bad caps. The row of capacitors behind the CPU and other capacitors around the memory slots, four 100uF in little neat row behind northbridge, and few capacitors around the HOT running regulators near southbridge are your issues.

I just got 5 in. - Bad shape.
I might be able to fix one.
The other 4 have holes or melted spots on the chipsets.
                  - Presumably had bad PSUs in use. I dunno their history.

Then get to it recapping the one with blown caps. The one that came from ebay, probably bad (might had been ruined by bad PSU).

Fans spinning, otherwise dead system (tested with new PSU, video - all other devices disconnected) - no beeps, blank screen. Either motherboard or CPU, could not test further. So motherboard and CPU were replaced, new system works fine, old parts wait for better times.

                                          IPAD A1673 power constantly resetting
                                          by AlexVG
Hello. I came across with the power supply constantly resetting on IPAD A1673.
(I connect it to USB power)
PMU U8100 is rising all voltages except PP3V3_S2 . Consequently, the SYS_ALIVE is also absent.
I have two identical boards with the same symptoms, and I think this is a common problem.
I also have a working board. I've taken all the measurements to compare and haven't seen any abnormalities. There are no signs of a short circuit or water damage.
                                          VREF, IREF are also present.
I also couldn't find any PP3V3_S2 enable signals.
                                          Please help me and suggest...

                                          Looking for some assistance please.
Trying to repair a PD27AOQ samsung power board.
Initially had the typical problem of cm806 capacitor blown, additionally thermistor NT801s blown.
Replaced the ceramic capacitor, str60252s, bridge rectifier, thermistor and fuse.
Testing it the fuse blows immediately power is turned on.
diodes dm852 and dm853 test as shorted when in the board but fine when removed.
any assistance, guidance would be appreciated.
