I know, but they shouldn't. It saves about 50c on the manufacturing cost. If they want 50c extra profit, make the PSU 50c extra and I'll be more than happy to pay for it.
PCBONEZ had this argument with Antec. The upshot was, that there is absoloutely zero excuse whatsoever to use bad caps in ANY power supply, even a $20 one.I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

Hello everyone,
I'm encountering a frustrating issue with my Corsair SFX 450 power supply. After an undefined period of operation, my PC will either suddenly restart or, in some cases, it won't start at all until I disconnect the power cable and reconnect it. This erratic behavior occurs intermittently, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact conditions under which it happens.

I decided to take one of the Rubycon capacitors out of a phat Xbox 360 with a Zephyr motherboard and noticed that all the Rubycon capacitors near the CPU were fake. The capacitors in question are Rubycon MFZ 680uf 6.3V and they all have a bullseye bottom, something not found in genuine Rubycon capacitors. None of them were leaking, they all have the K top, and the system has never been opened before. It appears Microsoft was using fake capacitors in the Xbox 360, or the Chinese facility where the console was manufactured in was using them and passing them off a genuine. I have 29inch LG CRT TV,And Yesterday,Whenever I connect AC power cord to power outlet without switch on, I heard a sound like white noise, And When I switched on this CRT TV, It sometime displayed correctly But usually It won't last more than 20 minute and The screen begin to dark and It finally did not display at all for hours..

The power supply is 2020 Corsair HX1200 modular power supply.
Cause of damage: I connected EVGA molex cable to the Sata port and test it with a ATX tester. Since the pin out on the EVGA is wrong, result in the 12V pin shorted to the 5V pin, in the 12V back-feeded to the 5v port.
Damage: Power supply shorted out, shut off itself internally, damaged the 5v or 3v rail or the monitoring circuitry. The self protection circuit shut off the power supply when power up because it detected some abnormal/defect. I waited a few minutes, let it self reset then try to re power up....
