    Asus K54LY 2.0 ver 2.0 BIOS VOLTAGE

    Hi all
    i have 3.3 and 5v rail
    on bios is pins 5,6 a have also 3.3v.
    As i know it should be about 1.5-1.7. is this correct

    how do u know? did u check bios ic datasheet?

    bioses are 3.3 and 1,8V

      check your eeprom part number and google it for data sheet then compare pinouts. if its a 1.8v eeprom ic.. those voltages is way high and can kill the ic.. but if its a 3.3v eeprom thats probably good.

        Pins 5&6 should be checked with oscilloscope. If no data is being transmitted then 3.3V is normal for idle high status even if the chip itself is 1.8V powered.

          Hi all

          I am also learning but in the way it helps others too

          what are the possibilities of BIOS pin 8 have no VCC power with laptop on?

          Bios chip is communicating with PCH and I/O directly and indirectly

          I have a laptop which has no voltage on pin 8 of Bios chip
