    Apple Macbook A1398 Battery charge fail

    Hi guys,

    I've a problem on a Macbook A1398, motherboard code 820-3787-A.
    It didn't work, so we have changed U7100 (ISL 6259).
    Now it works, but the battery charge till about 40%, then stop the charge.
    After this, the battery start to discharge even if the power supply it's plugged.
    The motherboard doesn't work without battery, so when the battery go down to 0%, it doesn't turn on.

    The power supply it's good.

    Any suggestion?

    Hello,

    Disconnect battery, connect magsafe, measure ppbus_g3h.
    Also is your charger 85W ?

      Known good battery?
      Board should work without battery with a genuine Magsafe2 85W.

        Yes, my chager is 85W.

        Untill today, ppbus_g3h was 1.8V without battery and 8.5V with battery.

        Now, without battery, ppbus_g3h is 12.5V and with battery, ppbus_g3h is 12.8V.

          If it was 1.8v without battery, it did not had to charge anything. Please check if now battery is not charging. Are you sure that isl is changed correctly and all pins are on there pads? Maybe you can upload photo of isl area ?

            The battery is good.

            Until today the motherboard turned on only with the battery.
            Now it turns on even without the battery, but the display doesn't turn on in both cases.

              Yes, I'm sure that the isl is correctly changed.

              I think that the battery is charging now but I'm not sure because the display doesn't turn on.
