I am looking for a transformer secondary of 60 volts @ 30 amp

The primary voltage is 480 single phase the second voltage needed is 60 volts

Now it could be 30 volts 0 volts 30 volts preferred

Or it could be 60 volts 0 volts 60 volts and just use one side of

Output amp need to be at least 30

Dose anyone know where I can find one

This is what is the device I am working on

The problem with this one is that it is over heating and smelling like it is over heating

When it has a load on it

These two repairs where found with a ESR meter...> Temp at 50*F then at 90*F the ESR reading more than 10%

1 Over Head Crane Current Sensing Board ( VFD Failure Five Years Later )
2 Hem Saw Computer Stack Board

All of these had CAPs POOF

Are you sure about your specs? 60VAC 30A output is 1,800VA and about a 45lb beast. That small transformer is probably overloaded and why it is stinking.

1,500VA control transformers are common but standard secondary voltage (like Hammond HPS Imperator) is 24V or 90V.
I thought you could undervolt a 600V (550/575V) transformer at 480V to get your voltage, but nothing around 48V or so.

You show 60-0-60 but want 30V so I'm confused. What is this thing powering.

Only half of the winding is being used so it is 60 volts

The device it is hook to it was drawing 23 amps DC

So if you have a transformer secondary that has 30 volts 0 volts 30 volts then you would have 60 volts

this is probably a good application for a switching psu!

Maybe but here is a concern it powering a brake coil

Here is the other concern how many amp is going to be on the 120 volts side

Where do I find a 60 volt switching power supply

              120v?
              i thought you said 480v

if you want to drop 120v to 60v just put it through a diode to half the phase and then put a big cap on it

Re: I am looking for a transformer secondary of 60 volts @ 30 amp

Is the brake (current) the same as always? I have seen brake solenoids fail with shorted turns, which causes current to go way high. 1.4kW is a huge brake!

At 23A and 60V whatever is switching that is under a lot of stress.
                There are 60VDC 20A SMPS https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000402859916.html
It might be better to use more than PSU in parallel for safety, if the brake operation is critical. SMPS won't last as long as iron.
