Hi I have a LG42LB650V 3d tv around 5 years old. The picture now is darker from the top right corner 2/3 across the screen. It is watchable but infuriating. I have tried every setting in the book, dismantled and cleaned the ribbon cables on the main board to no avail. Any help very much appreciated.

Besides dark area, there are also bright spots. Those are due to bad lenses and sometimes they even fall off.
The replacement strips are very cheap on aliexpress. Get the ones with bottom aluminum layer, they will last longer.
If you never done backlight repair, the process is quite involved and there is risk of damaging LCD screen or flex cables attached to it. Watch some youtube videos and be prepared.Comment
