Yes, hex editor. But I made a tool that unlocks probooks, elitebooks, folios, zbooks and some other HP series automatically.

you have to remove the bios chip from the motherboard, a programmer with which you will extract the bios bin, post it here and someone will help

Try to download file again; if you still have problem with file, then you may need to update your WinRAR utility or whatever decompressor utility you use.
I've downloaded file and can confirm that it's OK by using TEST option, I'm using WinRAR v5.70.

This BIOS you posted is from HP 840 G1 notebook, serial number of the notebook is CNU4249NNR.

Which is right? 840 G1 or 840 G3?

If it is from 840 G1 I made you unlocked BIOS with new clean ME and latest BIOS from HP website with the data from the old BIOS (model number, serial, SKU...)
