Old appliance

Hi all am I safe to wire up a old aplliance from late 70s early 80's.
Only two pin wiring same colour wire, no brown or blue

that's vague
what is it, and does it have exposed metal bits?

personally i would replace the wire anyway - that old, the insulation may crack!
