    4056 Chip

Hi everyone. I have this laser saber mobo that fails (the sword is totally death). I noticed a hole in the top right chip. I can read from the chip 4056 2043. I don't know the company who mades this chip ( i don't recognise the simbol). I have some questions.
Is it the chip for the lipo charge?
Can I replace with another 4056 chip? I found a lot of chip named in that way.
I found a lot of chip 4056 but with a TP at the beginning of the name. Is the same chip?
I need some programmer to reprogram it (like bios chip) or not?
    Thank you

I see it know. This should be good to replace it

                Re: 4056 Chip

The tp4056 is a li-Ion charging ic, Here is a link to a charger module with the same brand ic https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Charg.../dp/B07PDLPNDX

The prog (pin2) is just done with a resistor to set the charge current, no programing required. It looks like a bit of hot glue on Q5 and not cracked

I desolder the chip and this is what under. It is normal to have the connection between the Central bad and the top right and the third right?

that confirms it's not a tp4056 charging chip

Is there a chance that cleaning the pads has detached the green layer? That I did damage? Cause the chip in the pics you posted is exactly the same as mine. The only difference is the "1610"

It is a ME4056SPG from Microne, here is the datasheet, see page 16 (Suitable for charge status indicator, which the application not need battery’s temperature detection)

Is it a chip that manage the lipo charge ?

Yes, That is the same ic, the last number (1650) is a date code.

Ok guys I replaced both the IC and the other chip (a diode?). Now the laser saber is charged properly and the light works fine. But I have a problem. The saber doesn't emitt any sound but when it turned off. So the speaker works. It should be make sounds when you move it quickly. Any ideas?
                                thanks

I dont know. but before the fail, the saber sword emits sounds when you move it quickly and when you hit something with it. Do you need a motherboard back's pic?

probably need full pics of both sides and a list of whats on all the wires

                                        Re: 4056 Chip

Hi, I have a similar problem the saber was dear, so I removed the battery and give it a push with the bench power supply reconnect the battery and for a second the saber came on, the dead, so I removed the battery and tried again to charge it again, this time I think I put the battery the other way around, but nothing happened, so I removed the battery and try to charge it again , putting the battery the correct way, but nothing, I connected the adapter no light, nothing. I did noticed that if I give the battery a bit of charge, and connect it, the 4056 gets mad hot. nothing else beside the 4056 gets hot.

I checked the datasheet of the ME4056SPG, its basically the same as the TC4056 or I'm missing something. Question, inverting the polarity should have like a diode or something to protect it? Its a removable battery. What else could get burn by inverting the polarity to check?

                                        Thank you.
