    Printing 8.5x4 (single)check

One of my main customers prints business checks, which is fine for the first two on a page, but the last one is a pain in the ass. So many printers will jam with this check (including the bottom perforation), it's 8.5x4

His current printer, which he had to go through four (buy and return), found one that will, an HP 8600 that is getting old.

I literally used a PDF print to get the quickbooks single print, and go to staples, and after hooking to the wifi for windows auto driver download (which sometimes I could not and had to downoad the fucking driver) with some blank white 8.5x4 blank pieces of paper he cut for me, dragging my laptop all over the printer section, with a manager going up to me asking me what i'm doing and later helping me, going through about 10+ printer, none of them worked. Closest I got was an HP with single insert for printing on letters (slot that rolled the paper into inside the printer), it did print right but bitched about something afterwards.

he also required it to have a fax but there are ways around that (Windows fax/scan on another computer defaulting to a printer)

any ideas? any brands you know or something I just don't know?

addendum: these checks are a bit expensive to him and his budget is medium-tight. This is why he wants to be able to print on a single check

Those ridiculous 4x6 tiny photo printers... Actually I'm not sure how well these will work but was a thought...

Can the checks be printed portrait, assuming it's done landscape now?

Hm, maybe it depends on how quickbooks handles it I guess. I'll look into it, thanks

          Re: Printing 8.5x4 (single)check

          People still use checks?
J/k, I do as well, but never really had to print any myself.

Regarding the HP 8600... IIRC those were the ones (at least the older series from the early-mid 2010) that had a plastic gear that would often break and render the printer inoperable. I still have the "fixed" mechanism for one for some reason.

He's had it for years. These are business checks and many of the companies he deals with are not really that big and they use checks. They're what he pays me with, as my bank does not have zelle

On the rare occasion I write a check, I WRITE a check! As for printing them, why not use the printer's manual feed (like for envelopes)...the accounting software usually has templates for all standard format check printing.

              Cash is still king!

He's not in the computer business, he's not retail. His company uses steel to make metal rods/ends/parts for drapery companies. Big warehouse for metalworking.
