Nintendo switch no short charges fine battery full but no boot no sound

As the title says I have 2 switches showing the same symptom.

After quick investigation I found no short on usb c power of or video chip.

Initially the batteries was flat, after leaving it a while to charge they got full just fine. While charging the battery icon was not shown on screen. Using usb meter gave usual reading that is 15@0.1, 15v@0.5amp during early and middle of charging cycle respectively

To check if the battery is charged or not I teardown the unit and directly probe battery terminal which gives 4.17 volt more or less .

Pressing power button doesn't give any response, no sound or picture. Long pressing do nothing either

I am really confounded and hope gurus and masters here could point out possible fix

    Thank you

Turns out the backlight has died when I shine with flashlight I can confirm lcd shows homescreen just fine. Any idea which circuit powers the backlight ?

Backlight is a part of the screen, did you test a known good screen?

KDL-60EX500. Comes on fine, sound is fine, backlights come on. Blank screen. Already tried reset POWER/VOL-. Anyone else have this problem? Possibly bad T-Con RUNTK4244ZZ or panel? Could main or power supply cause this? There were 2 blown 560u 35v on power going to backlights but they were still working fine. Thanks for your help.

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
            by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Nintendo Switch lite charging chip heats up and does not short circuit
            by fab13
            Hello everyone

Small technical problem on a Nintendo Switch lite
Here's what I noticed: the USB port has been damaged internally, with a short circuit on the power supply line to the small fuse.

After replacing the USB connector, the short circuit went away and I can't see any other short circuit in the whole motherboard.

When I charge the console, it seems to be charging: I get 15 volts and an amperage of 0.450 A.

Then, after a while, the amperage increases to 1.1 A and the BQ24193 charging chip starts to heat up, as evidenced...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
            by DynaxSC
            Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...

Nintendo switch - clicking/crackling sound when pwr on
            by Woxx
Hey there, maybe someone can shine some light here.

I have a Nintendo Switch that doesn't power on. When I press and hold the power button I hear a crackling, fast ticking electric-like sound. Does anyone have a idea of what it could be?

I have disconnected everything that I can. Done some measurements, reading 17,2 Ohm as lowest on the CPU caps.

I would highly appreciate your thoughts.
