    3300uf 6.3V Poly recpaing

I got an old AM2 board with 3300uf 6.3v badcaps(all). So I want to change them with poly ones. Can you give me advice which capacity should I use ? I saw on one russian forum(rom.by) that capacity of poly should be around third of current leaky caps, but I'm not sure.

no, as close as you can get - which is probably 2000uf at the moment.

well, i got Foxconn WinFast MCP61SM2MA-RS2HV board, it's using 5x3300uf 6.3v caps atm, but board has space for 3 more caps. Also on rom.by forum I saw reference to this forum where it's said that there was a thread which shown that some gpu vendor changed 1000uf caps to 330uf poly ones. I think high capacity used for higher ripple current and lower ESR, so as poly caps arrived, all vendors started cutting unneeded capacity.

There is 3300uf 6.3v are changed with 1500uf 2.5v caps

I think about using these caps from ali https://aliexpress.ru/item/4000998191222.html

so what makes you think the caps have under 2v running through them?
can you find or take a high res pcb foto?

...because typically 3300uF caps were on the vcore output, and on an AM2 that will be under 2v...but yea, some pics would be good.

As a rule when polymodding, half the capacitance of the lytic to be replaced is a good standard to go by, been doing it for ages. I have never had a problem with it in well over 10 years. As a matter of fact, this post was created from a dual Socket-A that had all it's 3300uF caps replaced with 1800uF 6.3v Nichicon LG polymers. Its 100% solid.

little bit sad info but still, I'm thinking about using 3300uf 6.3v EPCOS B41851 caps instead of poly caps, as EPCOS are currently available in my local store... Poly are will arrive to me only in august. Also little off-topic, what is your opinion on EPCOS B41851 caps ? will be they good use here ?

yea, see that, I have Elzet CD285, CapXon KM, CapXon KF, CapXon LZ and JB JRC options too

Probably will go with LZ caps

If those are your only choices, the CapXon LZ is equivalent to the original caps, but considering CapXon's past reliability, I wouldn't expect them to last longer than a few years.

So, I found out that with needed capacitors is closed... My only choices are JB JRC and EPCOS right now... Damn... Shops in my region have little amount of good caps... Many of them are closed... Maybe I will start importing and selling good caps by my self...

Or months. I'd trust 20-year-old Rubycons pilfered from old boards over those.

Edit: Well, maybe not 20 given the height of the Pentium 3 era capacitor plague, maybe 15 years.
