Windows 7 Experience Index System rating Test Appears Tough on Laptops

That's what I'm noticing.

I had one laptop that would give a blue screen of death
during this test, but would work perfectly fine otherwise.

And I just had another laptop, where I had just installed
Windows 7 on a used IDE 60 Gig HD, and although it
installed perfectly, the HD apparently was killed during the
system test. Then the laptop couldn't see the drive at all,
even with Knoppix.

I suppose this is a good test, in that it weeds out the
weaklings, or the components that are about to go
bad.

Anyone else notice this?

Nope. Just your bad luck I suppose.

That index isn't really stressful to your system like a real burn-in program can.
