Samsung Color TV help

Bad year for tv problems. We had lighting strike near the house and then realized the next day the our Samsung TX-R2735 CRT TV won't turn on anymore. The power never went out nor was anything else messed up so we are not sure if the lightning even had anything to do with it. Anyway, what should I look for to see if its repairable as its out of warranty. What part would fail with a surge if that is what it was that caused the problem? The tv was off but plugged in...

Check the power supply input fuse, and the fusible resistors in the power supply. Depending on how the chassis sits in standby, it may or may not have damaged other circuits. Most likely just the power supply primary is what took the hit.

Thanks for the info...I am hoping it will be something simple like that. I will report back after I get the big heavy tv off of the tall dresser (need help) and open it up.
