panasonic 42E5X need advice before buying hdmi IC

    hello guys,

got a panasonic tv lcd 42E5X series, totaly dead after storm lightning
on inspection, the fault seems to came from motherboard
hdmi chip tmds361B si totaly fried (big hole in center), have to search on service manual to know which chip it is lol

don't see any damage at inspection, do you think it is valuable to buy and replace or this motherboard became just a crap ?

    thank you

Try to remove that chip and see if TV comes back to life.
Could be more damage than just the chip.
    Check power supply too.
And tmds361B can be easily found on google.

Be careful, a new chip would probably have to be programmed with correct edid, if the service menu permits a copy of this data from the firmware then ok... check near each hdmi port, maybe there are little chips , one per each, and one of those broken

        hello

thank you for help, just remove it for now and rework burnt lines
but i have an issue with psu too, damn.
got no stable outpout voltage, and only drain voltage on primary mosfet
the source is short, refers to manual, the only way to remove short (but not try to plug in) is to remove resistor R7102 R7101 and R7108, without them D7212 pass through only in one way. with resistors soldered, shows 0 ohms resitance both ways.

        don't understand that

        thanx
