LG 43uh620v 4 red lights, no Led backlight

    Hi guys,
    But if a strange one.
Have one of these that will not turn on. 4 blinking red led lights.
However when the right half of the panel is disconnected the leds come on and white and black vertical lines are displayed on the left half of the screen.
When the right half is connected its back to flashing red lights.
Am I right in suspecting the worst and its a new panel?
Thought I'd ask before I bin it

    Thanks

Could be, maybe try checking the little ceramic capacitors on the driver board between the tcon if equipped and the panel, check in ohm mode, a probe on each end, see if any are shorted and be suspicious of any reading less than 100 ohms. Note that most of the time it's only one bad capacitor that is making others read bad too.

Your original strips are bad, turned blue from being over-driven, more than likely, with the new ones, probably got a bad strip if you tested and one was bad, I've already heard of folks receiving a bad strip after 3 or 4 returns.

Is the Cathode of that Zener diode connected directly to the + pin of the grey connector?

I'll have to look and report back I've also looked and the writing on the diode is 6F J5

                  Hi budm
The cathode is connected to the - pin of the connector

That cannot be, you can see the trace from the - pin of the connector that goes to the Anode of that Zener (top end of he Zener), but I cannot see the trace connected to the Cathode of the Zener.
The Cathode looks to be connected to the large copper plane which is also connected to the + pin of the connector.
