This thread has info on how to test a relay: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71359

Run a 12V light bulb, like a car tail light as a load on the contacts.
An ohmmeter is not suitable to measure contact resistance, you have to put power through them.

just assume it's for direction and jumpwire the board to test without it.

P/N of the relay will help to locate the pinout of the relay.

Re: Speed controller for golf trolley

Except the relay needs to be energized to change the state of the contacts, when power is removed it goes back to the N.C.contacts
Unlike your switch which will stay in either position, unless thats a momentary switch

Guys if I bought the relay and the mosfets. What else could be wrong with the board?
Thinking I might just buy em and stick them in??

                          everything could potentially be wrong.
if you power the relay, does it click?

Also fyi. The trolley only moves forward. There is a pentintometer in the handle to adjust the speed.

                                    relay clicking - 50% tested.
coil works - now to check the contacts.

i like to open the cover and just LOOK at them - it's a lot simpler than using a meter.
