4K Smart TV Hardware Info Tips?

Am beginning to think about a 4K TV so started checking about SOC info for LG, Samsung, Sony and others.

Am completely at a loss?? I have been unable to find any hardware info for any 4K Smart TV from the mfr literature and even the reviews I have found.

Hope someone else has had this interest and could give me some tips how to do this.

      System On a Chip

combining the microcontroller and display driver etc.
nothing but trouble from a repair standpoint.

Uranium-235 My fault should have said "System on a chip" instead of SOC

        Full info https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_on_a_chip

To my knowledge all the new 4K Smart Tvs have SOCs. Please correct if wrong.

As previously mentioned have been unable to find any hardware info.

stj totally agree with you! No repair only Replace which is why I am looking for hardware info.

My gut feeling is these chips do not have adequate cooling.

Yeah thats what I meant. SoC. Usually thats not something i've heard one considers when buying a TV

Yeah, A lot of TV's have SoC's, even before 4k, so phones, some laptops/netbooks, tablets, media players, rokus, apple TV's, fire sticks. This is why I was confused, because I've never heard anyone taking that into consideration.

If it's any form of smart TV, it likely has an SoC
