    Gateway (ECS) MCP61PM-AM problem

I have this weird problem with this board :

    - Initially, system is off and unplugged. When power cable is plugged into PSU, the PSU fan starts, CPU fan spins at max speed ( very loud noise ). Using Kill-a-watt to measure , it draws around 35W.
Next, the front power button is pressed and CPU fan spins slow down ( by smartfan ), screen on, boot to OS and work fine. No BSOD whatsoever, running intel burntest, mem test, Prime are all fine.

    - When clicking on Shutdown in OS, screen will turn off. However, PSU fan still runs, CPU fan still runs. Now, if S3 state is set in BIOS power management, then CPU fan spins at low speed; system draw around 25W. If S1 state is set in BIOS, CPU fan will spin high again ( like at start ) and system draw around 35W .

In order to use this system, I have to plug/unplug all the time or use an external switch on outlet. I am not sure if this problem related to bad caps or something else. I searched around and someone said it s related to some logic control of PS_ON# signal , which is in southbridge chip; so, either live with it or change another board.

Does anyone experience this proble, have any idea or have a way to fix it ? Thanks

PS: Visually checking, all the caps look OK though.
