Bose Sound Link Mini II red power light is flashing

    Hi everyone.

Anyone ever come across a flashing red PWR light? Doesn´t charge, doesn't turn on.
Tried going to the Bose site and updating firmware but the computer doesn't see it plugged into USB.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Easiest way is to call Bose up tell them what is happening. They will take you through at test procedure to correct it. If that does not correct it then there will be something wrong inside. The manual for the equipment should have the different led color codes and flashing or steady codes.

Pull the battery and check for shorts across the battery input on the PCB. The MLCCs can short. Remove each one and test if a short is found. Usually the boost converter is OK.

Seen this in JBL Charge 3 also. Battery will have 4v or more when disconnected, but drops to zero (protection ckt kicking in) when connected to the PCB. Symptom would be the first battery bar LED flashing, with no power or charging.

These will work if just one input MLCC is removed; they're paralleled for ripple/ESR.
