    Halnziye HY610 Gold thermal compound

    Hi guys.
Has anyone tried Halnziye HY610 Gold thermal compound?
Gets pretty good reviews and is way cheaper than arctic silver.

    Any input?

Poor thermal efficiency to MX-2 and even greater to MX-4.
Claims of 45% pure gold and weird pricing on ebay smell funny to me.
The consistency of the HY510 I was recently given is not the best.

            lol
gold is not a thermal conductor.

Load of rubbish then? Stick to mx4?

I have been using Halnziye HY880 for some time now and it's better than I was hoping. I think it's a good alternative money wise. Lower thermal conductivity than MX-4 but still quite good even over time. Never tried the gold one though. Also try to avoid ebay or buy from a seller you know.

                      no, he miss-read your post.

how they can claim one has gold is beyond me though, a few seconds with a search engine would show it's not a good metal for anything other than corrosion resistance and showing you have too much money.(or did until you spent it on gold!)

silver is better at conducting both heat and electrical current,

Agree gold has a lower thermal conductivity even than copper , unless they managed to discover/create an isotope of gold with higher thermal conductivity, that is definitely rubbish. And it's actually not that expensive either so makes you wonder what they really put in it? Frankly I'm a bit surprised how many choices of thermal paste there are out there at the moment.
                        Look at this:

And it's not even all of them.

I still use MX-2 for everything PC or laptop, no reason to switch.
