    power up "TV power supply without logicboard

    Isolating power supply issue is something very useful. As a beginner I have following questions regarding inputs to power supply.

    As I understood PS_ON, DIM and BLK_ON are inputs to the PSU.

    These are my problems.

    1. Can we turn on power supply without logic board by connecting following pings?

    * 3.3V STB and BLK_ON (via a resister) AND
    * Connecting 3.3V STB to PS_ON for a short period

    2. Do power supply sense current to the logic board and T-Con?

    Can we turn on power supply without backlight (with logic board connected or not)?

      1k resistor from stby to pson,
      1k resistor from stby to blon, and mayby the dim pin.

        No connection to the main when perform stand alone self test.
        If the power supply board has inverter for CCFL BACKLIGHTS build in then you need to have lamps connected, if it has built in LED driver then you can test without LED connected but the LED driver will go into shutdown due to no load to the LED power supply when you apply BL-ON.

        You can do force on of the power supply using PS-ON just to test the switched power supply section, when you you do BL-ON test, you need to have Lamps (CCFL backlights type), or LEDs connected.

        Basically, you need to know what kind of power supply board you are testing, does it have inverter built-in, does it have LED driver built-in... etc.
