XPS Slooooooow charging after blown diode.

    XPS 9360 | LA-D841P

Schottky blew on dc in. I repaired the traces, replaced the diode, checked diode mode, and tested with no batt. Powered on just fine first time. For good measure tested all the other passive components that lead to the power IC and all seems fine. Tested with battery and the battery is now charging, adapter is recognized, but the battery charges only 2% per 20 mins or so. Urf. Gave it time since it could have been sitting for months for all i know.
Same slow charge rate. Replaced the power IC since it's visibly in line with the exploded diode and it actually charges a bit faster, but not much. Usually I'll see amps ramping up after a half hour or so, but this one sat 100% stable taking 200mA and no more for a full hour.

Current sense on battery side seems OK. It's possible the battery is just bad. Ordered a new one but I'm wondering if I'm thinking about this right or if I missed a data line step or something.

replace current sense resistor on battery side. check all mosfets on that line for good resistance or base shortage

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
      by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.

HP X360 convertible battery blown fuse error, not charging
      by drscoot
      HP Modelnumber: 14-dh0061nb
This laptop had a shorted cap on a Vcore section. After replacement is works again. But there is still a battery issue.
The battery is HT03XL and with the built-in component test from HP, in the Power section, I get an error: Logic State: Calibration required (20), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
I have another same battery, also with error: Logic State: Very Weak (70), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
And a third battery TF03XL (looks identical) with error: Logic State: OK (0), Charge state: Blown Fuse (42)
All these 3 batteries are charging...

Corsair RM 750 blown schottky diode near ES1DF
      by iyas132
Hi there, i am currently diagnosing my corsair rm750 that wont turn on, after a power trip.

Before the power trip, previously i need to push power button on my pc case quite a bit in order to turn the pc (and power supply on), however after the power trip now i cannot turn the pc on at all and i opened the power supply, and found out some of the component(s) are blown. (picture attached)

My current diagnostic is that the (schottky) diode marked "SF" in the 5Vsb circuit are blown and possibly the ES1DF diode too.

Can anyone help me identify the component...

HP Probook 470 G4 - Power and Charging Problem
      by Scoff
Looking for some help with this one if anybody can assist please? I have an HP Probook 470 G4 Laptop which recently started to intermittently failing to turn on, with intermittent white LED light(charging LED) by the charging port when it should have been charging and showing an orange LED instead. Definitely some sort of gradual failure. Now the laptop fails to power on at all, no charging LED, no Power Button LED either - seemingly dead.
Stripped down to the bare motherboard. The original HP battery, when disconnected from the motherboard, is reading 0.00v - possibly some sort of protection...

ATX power supply keeps blowing PFC mosfets — Cooler Master RS-550-ACAA-E3
      by davidebaldini
This is an ATX PSU rated for 550W powering 24/7 a computer load of about 200W, fed by a line-interactive 1500VA UPS. Mains is 230V.
      1. First issue: the PSU blew a mosfet on what I think is the active PFC boost converter, shorting its G D S pins together causing a short across the + and - lines produced by the rectifier on the 230V mains. The surge protector of the house tripped. When this happened I found that the UPS was unexpectedly disconnected from the wires of its battery. The UPS wasn't damaged, but I suspect this spontaneous detachment of a battery wire caused a condition that blew
