For me the best way to unlock this model is through the BIOS, no need to modify EC

There are two ways to unlock your laptop, although the above format is more labor intensive involving entering the parameters after unlocking, it is still my preference. The other way would be through the Embedded Controller (EC) located on the top of the board.
