Re: Phillips 50PF7321D/37 Plasma slow reboot

well bad news, I got a used Y-board off ebay for $45 and broke the FFC connector on it so I can't use it

good news, i let it cool and put the heat gun on that vertical board and the screen turned on pretty fast, so, that is it. I'll get some new caps for it and see if that makes a difference. If it does not, I'll unsolder that board off the one I bought and put it on the original

I like your determination, I think you can get that old thing going, I have an old lg plasma thats trying to beat me down, replaced upper buffer then found the x had most transistors shorted out, waiting on those to show up but I'm not very optomistic, prolly find more shit bad before its over.

I hate this thing. Taken it apart at least seven times and it's 100lbs and not easy. I said he should get this

        https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-50-in.../dp/B01CJV6722

even though it's cheap, it's not a smart tv because they use a roku and cable.

to hold them over anyways before they get a high end one. They said nah, to keep this 17yo 720p plasma

Not even sure the'll get a high end one. They watch tv alllll the time.

they wanted it back today but changed their mind, I offered to drill a hole on the back cover (steel) where this board is and they can use a hairdrier in the mean time to keep it warm, but I they asked how long till I can fix it, so I just ordered some caps from mouser. Luckily I'm literally 5mins away from the mouser HQ so I can pick them up from will call monday

what is the fine tuner on that board? Since I'm using some new caps, am I going to have to adjust something to compensate for this?

If the picture is good and the trimpots haven't been touched, do not adjust anything.

Re: Phillips 50PF7321D/37 Plasma slow reboot

Interesting, before and after I fixed it, when they used component, the sound actually created this red semi-transparent blobs up and down the screen (when the audio was silent it went away)

I put them on HDMI (TV only has one port, so I got a 3xHDMI switcher with IR remote that my brother in law gave me like six years ago)

but on HDMI, the left side of the screen (irrelevant of input-cable, roku or DVD), there is a permanent green ~1" line on the very left edge, that pushes the screen right the same size. I tried to adjust the picture x and y but it made no difference. I wonder if there is some bad caps on the video board. I recapped most of the caps on the power board I know the power going to it is very stable, unless there is other components with issues. He says it doesn't bother him. Bothers me a little bit

so it does this when you use the hdmi switcher or just the hdmi without switcher or both?

There's no overscan or underscan on the picture? Meaning there's no cut pixels except that it is shifted horizontally?

It cuts off an inch on the left side, and moves the picture and inch to the right side. I tried to use the config menu to move the picture to the right and the line did not move

If it only happens in HDMI it's something with the main board, try factory reset or access the service menu and look for some option that could do this picture shifting.
