24in LG mo PSU/board. Bad caps or Bad board

The basic caps are all bad but I think the inverter transformer might be bad as well. There is a black burn spot on the other side of the transformer. Though I do know sometimes burn marks can arise just from being hot but ...

So my question is this. Do you think I could get away with just replacing the capacitors or do you think it would be best just to replace the full board. I found one on ebay for 31$ but its in hong kong and it'll be a couple/few weeks before it gets here.

Why trash it, its a fairly simple repair ??? the transformer should be fine if you have a DMM you can test it to be 100% sure but its always worth a try.

....and the evilbay one from China will have the same crap caps on it you have on the one in this thread. Recap it, quality caps are 1/2 the price of the evilbay board.
Stupidity should be a crime, especially for drivers. I have NO patience for them.

Thanks guys, I just wasn't sure if getting a new matching transformer was going to be a option or not. I'll post here the results once I re cap it.

Ok so i recapped the power board and it now comes on.... But now its extremely fuzzy with pixilated lines. Ive tested it on two systems and two power cords with same result. Any thoughts on what else i could do? Also i did update driver and used diagnostic software with no help.

The picture doesn't look any fuzzier than the bezel in that photo. Are you sure that the resolution is set correctly?

I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Did you try reseating the LVDS cable to the LCD panel?

sorry for the late response i was looking at your pictures and when i saw the suscon caps i was like i had to recap my psu in an old emac just because of suscrap (why do companies still use crap caps) i switched all to panasonic FR low-esr series.

I did all the necessary steps before coming here: Checked cables, used different cables, checked software(video card settings), onboard monitor diagnostics, software diagnostics. Then i switched the monitor to a different computer and the fuzzyness still persisted. The lines you see on that picture aren't suppuse to be there.

Well FYI, I was unable to locate the option to change it and more than likely my auto fill created it so the damage is done. Also I've never had a problem with spam because that is what filters are for. Besides there are a lot more efficient ways to acquire someones email address

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            Assuming...

                            Good day!

I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...
