Hi guys
I have a P5G41T-MLX motherboard
It boots but stops with POST code 81 - Keyboard reset error or stuck key
This is with or without a PS2 keyboard attached.
I have the datasheet for the SIO W83627DHG or at least I think this is the same, mine is W83627DHG-AC
file:///C:/Users/Logger/Downloads/w83627dfg.pdf
I have the boardview (attached here)
On the KBC pins of the SIO I have
Pin 59 (GA20) 3.3V
Pin 60 KBRST 3.3V
Pin 62 (KCLK) 0V
Pin 63 (KBRST) 5V
Pin 65 (MCLK) 0V
Pin 66 (MDAT) 5V
So ther eis no visible clock or data to the PS2 port
There are some little resistor networks RORN8, RORN9 on boardview near the Keyboard port and these read OK. There is a funny white thing with 8 legs by those resistors. What is this? COCN1 on boardview, It reads 5.5K across each pair of pins.
I washed the motherboard, dried overnight then I removed the SIO because there was still corrosion or deposits especially on the side pins 59-64. I then cleaned the board and SIO and resoldered it as I don't have that type in stock.
After removing cleaning and resoldering the SIO I still have the same error 81
Do I simply have a faulty SIO here or is there more to it than that. Is the BIOS maybe looking for a USB keyboard and I am barking completely up the wrong tree?
